|
Context of lesson planning:
Our class is comprised of grades 3,4,5 English Language Learners. The class is a literacy skill builder classroom with a duration of three weeks as it is a summer session. There are 22 students in the class, aged 8-11. It is geared towards helping students with acquiring language proficiency through learning various English language concepts in all forms of reading, writing, speaking and listening. Many of the students have diverse needs and are at varying levels of proficiency from beginning, developing, expanding to consolidating. In result of this, we have incorporated many adaptations along with an implementation of the Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) to reach all of our students needs.
